UKREiiF announces support for the 165,000 Reasons campaign September 7th, 2026 Mya Driver Built environment forum backs national campaign seeking urgent reform for children and families living in temporary accommodation. UKREiiF has announced its sponsorship of 165,000 Reasons, the national campaign bringing together local government, charities and the built environment sector to improve the lives of children living in temporary accommodation. The campaign was launched at UKREiiF in Leeds in May 2026. Its central message is simple: every number is a child, and every child deserves a safe, suitable and stable home. Latest figures published by the campaign show that 176,130 children across the UK do not have a stable place to call home. Many face overcrowding, repeated moves and disruption to their education, health and family life. UKREiiF’s sponsorship will help amplify the campaign across the property and infrastructure sectors, encouraging organisations with the expertise, land, investment and delivery capacity to play a practical role in reforming temporary accommodation. β165,000 Reasons is asking the built environment sector to help turn concern into practical action. The campaign began at UKREiiF, so its decision to sponsor our work is an important next step. Together, we can bring the right organisations around the table and develop solutions that give children greater safety, stability and hope.β Nick Kilby, Executive Chair of Cratus Group and founder of 165,000 Reasons βThe temporary accommodation crisis is not solely a housing issue. It affects children’s health, education and future opportunities, while placing immense pressure on local authorities. UKREiiF is proud to support 165,000 Reasons and use our platform to bring together the public and private sectors behind workable solutions.β Nathan Spencer, Co-Founding Director and Managing Director at UKREiiF The sponsorship follows a programme of campaign activity involving local authorities, housing and development organisations, charities and people with lived experience. The campaign is developing recommendations focused on improving standards now, creating faster routes into settled homes and delivering the long-term reform needed to reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.
