A project to breathe new life into 57 acres of redundant farmland near Congleton Business Park is due to be approved by local planners this week.

Richborough Estates has developed an innovative mixed-use scheme to include up to 175 homes, a 19,000 sqft food store, office space (37,000 sqft), light industrial use (93,000) and warehousing (126,000). Avison Young are being utilised as planners while design work is being carried out by The Pegasus Group.

If approved by Cheshire East Council there will also be a £90m contribution towards the Congleton Link Road upgrade, which is expected to be completed before June.

The scheme also provides for the provision of a pub, takeaway units and a greenway that can accommodate pedestrians and cyclists.
