The East of England Showground, historically celebrated as the home of the Peterborough Panthers since 1966, is set to embark on an exciting new chapter. The famed racetrack is poised for a transformation, making way for an invigorating blend of modern living and leisure.

Owner of the Peterborough Panthers, Keith Chapman, commented on the upcoming transition, noting the plethora of fresh opportunities the redevelopment will usher in for the city. “The Showground’s legacy will evolve and thrive in a novel and vibrant fashion,” he remarked.

The forthcoming redevelopment scheme promises a rejuvenation of the 165-acre plot, boasting plans for 1,500 cutting-edge homes, a chic hotel, a primary school, and a care home. This metamorphosis is designed to cater to the dynamic needs of today’s community, offering a harmonious mix of residential, leisure, and commercial spaces.

This initiative is set to reinvigorate Peterborough, elevating its allure for both locals and tourists. Beyond providing state-of-the-art housing, the project will also play a pivotal role in the local economy by creating jobs and drawing in investments.

Engaging with the redevelopment plans, entities like Sport England are collaborating to ensure the blueprint aligns seamlessly with Peterborough’s broader ambitions.

The evolution of the site is an integral component of the broader vision articulated by the East of England Agricultural Society, aimed at harnessing the land’s full potential to meet modern demands.
