Countryside Partnerships, a subsidiary of Vistry Group, has announced a renewed partnership with Sigma Capital, a leading build-to-rent (BTR) provider, to construct 5,000 new homes across the UK. These homes, destined for Sigma’s BTR brand Simple Life Homes, are set to be developed over the next five years, marking a significant boost in housing availability in several regions.

This collaboration reinforces the ongoing relationship between Countryside and Sigma, which has been flourishing since 2014. Sigma, acquired by PineBridge Benson Elliot in 2021 for £188.4 million, has been at the forefront of the BTR housing sector, with more than 3,500 homes currently under construction nationwide. The company boasts a high occupancy rate, with 98% of its properties either let or reserved at all times.

Greg Fitzgerald, CEO of Vistry Group, expressed enthusiasm about the agreement, highlighting the effectiveness of their partnership model in addressing the UK’s housing needs. The focus on high-quality build-to-rent homes is seen as a crucial component of their mixed-tenure community offerings.

Graham Barnet, CEO and Founder of Sigma Capital Group, reflected on the successful history with Vistry, noting the delivery of over 8,500 new family homes across the UK, amounting to a delivery cost of £2.25 billion to date. Barnet anticipates the continuation of this fruitful partnership, aiming to provide much-needed family housing in the build-to-rent sector.

This ambitious project underlines the commitment of both Countryside Partnerships and Sigma Capital to expand the UK’s housing market, focusing on high-quality, accessible family homes for rent.
