UKREiiF Annual Event

Leeds City Centre – Royal Armouries Leeds & Leeds Dock, New Dock, Armouries Dr, Leeds LS10 1LT

UKREiiF connects people, places and businesses to accelerate the Levelling Up Agenda, whilst unlocking sustainable, inclusive and transformational investment across the UK.

This 3-day event brought together the public and private sector – with every core UK city and region involved – alongside Government, investors, funders, developers, housebuilders, end-users and more.

Through the event doors we saw:

  • 4,000 Event Attendees
  • 1,000 More Across Fringe Events
  • 300 Speakers on 14 Stages
  • 80 Exhibitors
  • 50+ Fringe Events
  • 200 Local Authorities Attending
  • 500 Investors Attending
  • 300 Occupiers Attending
  • 500 Developers Attending

The UK needs a platform for the public sector to showcase the scale of investable propositions they have across their region, and highlight future opportunities to developers, investors and occupiers from across the globe.

UKREiiF did just that.

Not only did we facilitate these introductions – we also focused on several key themes to progress the industry conversation. These included the UK’s Net Zero Target, Social Value and Inclusive Growth, the Future of Real Estate, Building Better Communities and Inclusive Inward Investment.

Supported by a high number of regional combined authorities, local councils and Government departments – as well as the largest developers and investors from across the UK and globe – this event gathered all the key players, influencers and decision makers within the investment and real estate markets. And we hope you’ll join us in 2023.

UKREiiF had 15 stages with over 300 speakers sharing their knowledge and expertise. Thought leadership, Government Ministers, devolved Mayors, key influencers and policy shapers shared the stage – take a look at the event programme below:

Engagement and community data best practices: using partnerships to achieve governmental white paper goals

The government’s long-awaited Levelling Up white paper has, at its centre, twelve ‘Missions’ to level up the UK. It puts forward a number of ideas, many of which could accelerate the trend of local democratic enhancement through a greater say for local people and communities. But what it provides in breadth it often lacks in detail.

It is imbued with community language: there are 451 appearances of the words ‘community’ or ‘communities’ in the paper (which is admittedly 297 pages long). This is where there is an opportunity to radically reshape the way that communities interact with their places. To get this right, real actionable data needs to be collected from local people as part of an open conversation. Digital tools and the right partnerships will play a huge role in this.

This talk explores, with examples, how this can be achieved.

This roundtable session is in partnership with Commonplace.
