Plans to transform an ‘unattractive and derelict’ site in Tipner East, Portsmouth are likely to be approved next week.

The scheme will see the site redeveloped into a vibrant new waterfront community, delivering much-needed, high-quality homes for the city of Portsmouth. The hope is for the site to deliver between 750 and 850 new homes, including those for affordable tenures such as shared ownership and affordable rent.

Vivid Homes is behind the proposals that will take place in the north-west part of Portsea Island.

Sustainability, ecology and landscaping will be at the heart of designs. Proposals include enhancing the waterfront promenade for all residents to enjoy, as well as improving the connectivity from the north of Portsmouth to the rest of the city.
