The three-storey Shaw and Crompton Health & Wellbeing Hub would be able to provide medical care to more than 13,000 patients.

If approved by Oldham Council, the United Healthcare Developments project would become the Oak Gables Partnership and Village Medical Practice.

Both are currently based at Crompton Health Centre, a 1970s building with no room to expand.

The surgeries have a patient list of around 12,700. They expect that list to grow by more than 500 patients a year.

The new facility, designed by PRP Architects, would have more than 18,400 sq ft of internal floorspace across three floors.

The proposals also include a 54-space car park, with four spaces reserved for those who are disabled. There would also be six electric vehicle charging spaces and storage for 28 cycles, according to the project’s design and access statement.

The application reference number for the project with Oldham Council is FUL/349659/22.
