Housing & Residential: North West YHG’s 716 Manchester homes hot tip for approval September 15th, 2022 Mya Driver Housing provider plans to transform the former Jacksons Brickworks site.Planning officers have recommended Manchester City Council approve the proposal.Your Housing Group’s plan to build 716 homes, a school, and a community hub on 47 acres of brownfield located off Ten Acres Lane in the Miles Platting and Newton Heath Ward.The proposals outline the development will be delivered in two phases.Phase 1 will see the building of 134 apartments and 244 houses with a four-storey community hub with a ground floor of more than 6,600 sq ft of commercial space. The upper three floors of the building would have apartments.Out of 134 apartments, 102 will be two bedroomed while 32 would have one. The houses would have between two and four bedrooms, with the vast majority (134) having three.132 homes are designated for shared ownership, 95 for affordable rent, 28 for social rent, 95 for private rent and 28 for open market sale.Permission is currently being sought for the second phase, which could include up to 338 homes of makeup to those delivered in phase 1. The second phase also includes a secondary school that would be delivered by LocatED and have places for 1,050 students. The second phase would be built on more than 26 acres.
