LandAid are a prestigious charity that offer world class support in the movement to ending youth homelessness in the UK. Organising huge events to raise substantial funding whilst also raising awareness. Their efforts to date have changed the lives of many young people who found themselves in very vulnerable situations.

LandAid bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.

At UKREiiF, LandAid continued to lead the campaign to draw attention to the very real problem that is the high levels of homelessness in the UK – a cause which everyone at UKREiiF were no doubt in full support of. During the session they chaired at the event, LandAid detailed their up-and-coming schemes on the horizon (designed to generate huge financial support), along with how they plan to keep raising even more long-term.

In addition to hosting a panel of speakers, Landaid also presented their very own award at the UKREiiF Awards Night on the Tuesday evening at the Royal Armouries. This year’s winner of the Landaid award was Freehold, who have also been campaigning alongside Landaid to end youth homelessness in the UK.

in terms of upcoming fundraising activities, most recently a 10K run has been organised which will raise huge amounts for the charity and encourage fitness across the area. This is just a glimpse of the bigger picture; which includes raising £500,000 through the LandAid SleepOut and £3,800 for the WomenCentre charity raised by LandAid’s Yorkshire Ambassador Quiz.

Keith Griffiths, Director took part in one of their ‘sleep outs’ this year and said “ this eye-opening experience enabled me reach a new level of understanding about the problems people are facing and helped me realise the severity of the issue. It cemented how much we all take having a roof over our heads for granted and I believe the UK construction industry really needs to step up and encourage everyone to do better to completely eradicate this national epidemic”.

Alice Lamb, Deputy CEO of LandAid has said, “It was an honour to chair the ‘Solving the Housing Crisis’ panel at UKREiiF. I’d love to thank Built Environment Networking for the amazing opportunity, and the panellists and audience for being brilliant. It was incredible to be a part of a discussions around affordable housing and sustainability that can be a part of the solution to end youth homelessness.”
