Legal & General Affordable Homes (LGAH) has announced the acquisition of 487 affordable homes in Perry Barr from Birmingham City Council. This strategic acquisition reinforces Legal & General’s (L&G) continued commitment to addressing the UK’s housing shortage and supporting regional development in the West Midlands.

The acquisition forms part of L&G’s broader investment strategy in the region following its landmark partnership agreement with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) in May 2022. Under this agreement, L&G pledged to invest £4 billion over seven years in housing, regeneration, and economic development across the West Midlands. To date, L&G has already invested over £2 billion in the region.

The Perry Barr development supports Birmingham’s ambitious target of delivering 215,000 new homes by 2031. By providing high-quality, affordable housing, LGAH aims to create sustainable communities while contributing to local economic growth.
