Harbour Hotels Group has acquired Rothay Garden hotel in Grasmere, Lake District, aiming to expand its presence in northern England. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.

The 32-bedroom Rothay Garden hotel will be rebranded as Rothay Garden by Harbour Hotels and will undergo a “non-intrusive” refurbishment. The hotel will continue to operate during the refurbishment, which will integrate Harbour’s distinctive style throughout the property.

Harbour Hotels’ CEO, Mike Warren, is optimistic about the acquisition, stating, “Rothay Garden will prove very popular with our guests and locals alike.”

Situated on the outskirts of Grasmere village and set within two acres of gardens, Rothay Garden offers a serene escape inspired by its picturesque rural surroundings. In addition to the main hotel, the estate includes the recently refurbished private Riverside Lodge, which can accommodate up to eight guests. The hotel also features a two AA rosette restaurant, bar and lounge, and the Riverside Spa.
