Surrey County Council has announced a tender opportunity for the second phase of its extra care housing initiative, which will be delivered under a design, build, finance, and operate (DBFO) contract. This phase follows the successful outcomes of the Pond Meadow (Phase 1a) and Phase 1b Extra Care Housing tenders, in line with the Council’s Right Homes Right Support Strategy.

The new phase will involve three sites:

– Colebrook site, Noke Drive, Redhill, RH1 1PT

– Birchlands, former Care Home, Barley Moor Road, Englefield Green, Egham, TW20 0NP

– Orchard Court, former Care Home, East Grinstead Road, Lingfield, RH7 6ET

These sites will be put to tender starting in July 2024, aiming to deliver approximately 200+ units to support the Council’s objectives for extra care housing, as outlined in the July 2019 Cabinet report. The list of sites is subject to change at the Council’s discretion.

The extra care housing development will include fully commissioned care and support contracts to be awarded at a later date. This initiative aligns with Surrey County Council’s commitment to providing suitable housing and support for its residents.
