Caddick Developments has applied for planning permission to create 360,000 sq ft of logistics space at Ashton Park in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. The project will extend the existing South Lancashire Industrial Estate and can be built as either one or multiple units.

The development aims for a BREEAM Excellent rating, incorporating features such as electric vehicle charging, solar panel-ready roofs, battery storage areas, and air source heat pumps.

Tom Park, associate director at Caddick Developments, stated, “This application gives us the opportunity to bring forward much-needed logistics space to an undersupplied, well-established M6 location, while also reflecting our commitment to creating best-in-class sustainable developments. Our proposals will contribute £46.2m to the local economy annually, boosting economic growth and creating better opportunities for residents in Ashton-in-Makerfield and across Wigan.”

Knight Frank and DTRE have been appointed as joint agents for the development.
