Nottingham Women in Construction have joined forces with Women in Construction in Lincoln and have confirmed their involvement with The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), which is set to take place between 21-23 May in Leeds. The networks have come together to host a Fringe event on Tuesday 21st May at 6:30pm onwards.

Established 20 years ago, Nottingham Women in Construction is a community of women within the local property and construction industry that meet regularly throughout the year hosting a range of events. The network allows women to come together and share their victories as well as challenges to help pave the way for empowerment. The heart of the network is to help individuals grow their network and gain confidence whilst encouraging the next generation of women into the industry.

Established in 2023, Women in Construction in Lincolnshire (WiCiL) is a new concept for Lincolnshire which has as its centre a thread of education.  Although networking and catching up on industry news will be part of the group’s meetings and events, the group wants to achieve some tangible results in terms of encouraging more young people into the construction industry.  The group is all about inspiring members to fulfil their career ambitions and to showcase and develop their skills in a supportive environment.

The teams behind each network have secured a fringe event at UKREiiF, where over 10,000 investors, developers, occupiers, and local authorities are set to attend. The relaxed drinks event will take place on Tuesday the 21st May at 6:30pm hosted at the Corn Exchange. The event is kindly sponsored by Wilmott Dixon, Team Lincolnshire, & Hexa Consulting and will introduce an incredible speaker Michelle Hands. Michelle, a 17-year construction industry veteran and also the voice behind the She Who Dares Wins Podcast will speak about her experience within the industry and will give you the tools to have the right attitude in a male dominated industry.

Laura Smith, Millward Consulting Engineers and Chair of Nottingham Women in Construction said: We are delighted to be joining forces with Women in Construction in Lincoln to host a Fringe event at this year’s UKREiiF. We would like to welcome all women from across the country to come along and meet likeminded women from the East Midlands, whilst enjoying a glass or two of fizz and hearing from our incredible speaker Michelle. We would also like to take the time to thank our incredible sponsors in helping us achieve this milestone event and we look forward to seeing you there!

Nathan Spencer, Director at UKREiiF, said: “We’re pleased to share that Nottingham Women in Construction and Women in Construction in Lincoln will be joining us for the third annual UKREiiF event. We believe that fostering diversity and inclusion within the real estate and construction sectors is vital for driving innovation and sustainable growth. Nottingham Women in Construction and Women in Construction in Lincoln’s participation in the UKREiiF event exemplifies their commitment to creating a more inclusive industry. We look forward to their fringe event, which will undoubtedly contribute valuable perspectives and insights to the broader discussions at the forum.”

Led by the UK’s leading property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the third annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 21-23 May 2024. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth, and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
