Dalata Hotel Group, Ireland’s premier hotel operator, has announced plans to augment its portfolio with over 800 new rooms in 2024, emphasizing its growth trajectory in the United Kingdom. Dalata Hotels to Expand UK Presence with 800 New Rooms.

The announcement, made in a recent trading update on December 14, indicates Dalata’s strong performance in 2023, setting the stage for further expansion in the coming year. The group, renowned for managing the Maldron and Clayton hotel brands, has projected its annual revenues to surpass €600 million, marking a substantial increase from the previous year’s €500 million.

This expansion includes the opening of three new hotels across the UK and the Netherlands in 2023. The coming year is set to witness the addition of four more properties, marking Dalata’s debut in Brighton and Liverpool. This will raise the group’s total room count to more than 10,000, with the new properties contributing 834 rooms.

Earlier in the year, Dalata made a significant investment in London, acquiring a hotel for £44.3 million. This 192-bedroom property in Finsbury Park underwent a £2 million renovation before reopening under the Maldron brand.

Dalata’s expansion plans have been met with positive responses from investors, reflected in a near 25% increase in the group’s share price to €4.30. This growth spurt follows a challenging period during the pandemic when the group experienced a nearly 60% revenue drop.

Dalata Hotel Group’s portfolio comprises 50 mainly four-star hotels, strategically located in city centers. The group’s presence spans across 29 owned hotels, 18 leased hotels, and three management contracts, extending its influence in the UK and continental Europe.
