The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) has retained its four-year long ISO 20121 Sustainable Events Management Accreditation following its annual audit at this year’s event.

UKREiiF has been proven to foster a commitment to becoming the most sustainable event we can by demonstrating a strong focus on sustainability by not only meeting but exceeding the standard’s requirements. This milestone reflects UKREiiF’s ongoing dedication to delivering one of the most environmentally responsible events in the industry.

To achieve this accreditation, UKREiiF has worked tirelessly throughout the year to adhere to detailed reviews, analysis and improvements from previous years. Large improvements were made to areas like the printed programme – with the investment into a mobile application and improved website experience helping to reduce printing by 688,000 A5 pages. The introduction of a carbon footprint report, 600% increase in cash donations to CIC’s and charities, water stations being introduced across the site and an increase in ‘Sustainable Champions’ via our partner initiative have all contributed to a positive ISO accreditation.

Nicki Worral, ISO Lead at UKREiiF, said: “We are incredibly proud to once again achieve the ISO 20121 Sustainable Events Management Accreditation. It’s a reflection of the tireless work and commitment shown by our entire team, our partners, and our stakeholders to embed sustainability at every level of UKREiiF. This isn’t just a badge, it’s a demonstration of how we lead by example in creating an inclusive, environmentally conscious, and socially responsible event. From emissions tracking to promoting active travel, from reducing waste to empowering young people and underrepresented communities, sustainability is not an afterthought, it’s at the heart of everything we do.”
