We have now held our ISO 20121 Sustainable Events Management accreditation for three years now. The UKREiiF team is committed to making each event more sustainable than the last. We focus not just on our own impact but also on how delegates, sponsors, and partners can help us make future events even greener.

Learn some tips and tricks to take into consideration when planning your time at UKREiiF:

Travel

Leeds is centrally located in the UK, making it easy to reach from many major cities by train. Choosing to travel is an eco-friendly win, emitting significantly fewer carbon emissions (66-75% less than cars!)

We recommend traveling in standard class for the most sustainable and cost-effective option. First class carriages, with fewer passengers, tend to have a higher per-person carbon footprint. By choosing standard class, you help reduce emissions and save on costs.

Cycling to UKREiiF has grown in popularity over the years – Club Peloton brought a group of riders via their Cycle to UKREiiF, from either Oxford to Leeds, or Edinburgh to Leeds, which raised money to help transform young lives.

The water taxi is a sure fan favourite of delegates attending UKREiiF. You can travel from Leeds Station to the venue via a yellow boat – the most scenic, stylish and sustainable way to get across town.

Business Cards

Ditching the old-school single-use business cards is becoming a new trend. Instead, professionals are embracing innovative alternatives, from QR codes that instantly connect to LinkedIn profiles and contact information, to business cards made from recycled paper with seeds inside—so after a networking event, you can plant them.

No single-use plastic

We’re on a mission to banish single-use plastics from our site. With our staff, partners and exhibitors all committed to going plastic-free, we’re nearly there! But we need you to seal the deal—so don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle and coffee cup to UKREiiF. Our vendors will gladly fill up your favourite cup, no questions asked.

Educate yourself and spread the word

At UKREiiF 2024, we’ll have an exciting lineup of sessions and panel discussions all about crushing those net-zero goals. Dive in and soak up insights from industry leaders who are paving the way to a greener future!

Make sure to spread the word and share your top tips on how to be as sustainable as possible with friends, family and colleagues!
