In an update to Thorpe St Andrew’s housing landscape, revised plans now earmark the development of 550 homes across the Pinebanks, Langley North, Langley South, and Griffin Lane sites. This development comes after a thorough review process, aimed at integrating community feedback and environmental considerations into the project’s blueprint.

Originally proposed for a higher number of residences, the project, led by developer Ocubis, has adjusted its plans to accommodate 550 homes. This adjustment follows discussions with the local community and stakeholders, ensuring a balanced approach to development while preserving local heritage and green spaces.

The project promises to rejuvenate the area, providing a range of housing options for prospective residents. The inclusion of ancient woodland and an ice age pit within the project’s scope underscores a commitment to maintaining natural habitats and biodiversity alongside residential expansion.

Ian Mackie, Thorpe St Andrew county councillor, expressed optimism about the development’s direction, highlighting the positive outcomes of community engagement and planning. “It’s a step forward in delivering new homes while ensuring the protection and enhancement of local green spaces,” Mackie noted.

The development aims to begin construction around Hillcrest Road and Henby Way, bringing much-anticipated housing to the region. With plans set to be reviewed by Broadland’s planning committee this summer, the project is poised to make a significant contribution to Thorpe St Andrew’s housing market, meeting the growing demand for homes in the area.
