Preston has launched an ambitious £multi-billion investment plan aimed at driving growth and regeneration across the city by 2035. The newly formed Preston Regeneration Board (PRB) introduced the Preston 35 plan to business leaders at a Preston Partnership event, a prominent business networking group in the region.

The announcement follows a successful presentation at the UKREiiF conference in Leeds, the UK’s largest real estate, investment, and infrastructure forum, attended by over 13,000 delegates eager to discover new investment opportunities.

Preston 35, championed by key stakeholders including Preston City Council, Lancashire County Council, University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), and Preston Partnership, outlines six strategic regeneration projects designed to attract further investment and enhance the city’s appeal as a business hub.

Adrian Phillips, Chief Executive of Preston City Council, detailed the vision and objectives of the PRB at the Preston Partnership event on 25 July. He emphasised the long-term focus of the plan, aligning it with the city’s Guild celebrations in 2032, to ensure continued progress and collaboration. “The city’s investment plan is always evolving and this new reiteration – Preston 35 – defines what we have already collectively achieved over the past decade, but more importantly, it focuses on what’s next and how much more we can achieve by working together,” Phillips stated.

John Chesworth, chair of Preston Partnership, highlighted the collaborative nature of the plan: “This exciting plan is partnership in action. The key Preston regeneration stakeholders leading the regeneration of Preston over the next decade have agreed key priorities and identified those projects which will contribute to their delivery.”

Key regeneration projects include:

– **Preston Station East Phase 1**: Developing Grade A office space as part of the Station Quarter Masterplan.

– **Harris Quarter Phase 2**: Transforming the area into a cultural, leisure, and conference quarter.

– **Stoneygate Phase 2**: Focusing on new city centre residential, business, and educational developments.

– **Innovate Preston**: Establishing Preston as a centre for innovation and the National Cyber Facility supply chain.

– **Preston Community Health Hub**: Creating a comprehensive health and wellbeing service hub.

– **Access Preston**: Constructing Cottam Parkway, a new £35m railway station enhancing sustainable transport.

Preston 35 is set to be a major topic at property networking events in Preston, providing industry professionals with opportunities to explore potential collaborations. Attendees will also gain insights on how to meet property investors and how to win construction contracts.

For those seeking to engage with the project, upcoming investment events in Preston and other major cities will be crucial. These events offer valuable networking opportunities, including learning how to contact property investors and meeting influential figures in the industry. Additionally, the infrastructure investment event in Preston and the property investors UK event in Preston will provide practical networking tips for property and advice on navigating the construction sector.
