PLATFORM_, a prominent Build to Rent developer, investor, and operator, has acquired a prime riverside site in the heart of Bristol. Located on Eugene Street, just a five-minute walk from Cabot Circus and overlooking the River Frome, the development will feature over 300 new homes. This acquisition is part of the Bristol City Council’s Frome Gateway Spatial Regeneration Framework.

Stewart Knight, Acquisitions Director at PLATFORM_, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, ““We are delighted to have secured a site in Bristol as the city has been at the top of our target list for a long time. We were attracted by the combination of a strong local economy, excellent demographics and a real shortage of high quality, well-managed rental accommodation. We’re looking forward to working with the city’s planners to bring forward a planning application to deliver much needed new housing.”.

The project will include flexible employment space on the ground floor, a new riverside walk, and a pocket prk, creating an attractive new neighbourhood. This initiative is set to enhance the city’s Build to Rent sector, which currently has a lower provision compared to other regional hubs like Birmingham and Manchester.

This is a unique opportunity for PLATFORM_ to deliver over 300 quality homes contributing to the provision of much-needed housing required by this dynamic and growing city. This will be the 12th Build to Rent project for PLATFORM_, taking our operational and under development pipeline to over 4,000 units with a completed value of £1.3bn.”

As part of the project’s development process, a series of stakeholder and community consultation events will be held, allowing local residents to learn more about the plans and provide feedback. PLATFORM_ aims to submit a planning application to Bristol City Council in January 2025.
