According to Studio Moren, the architectural firm behind the design, the new hotel is expected to create 115 jobs in the area. The development will involve refurbishing two existing 1960s office buildings on the site, which are currently in poor condition. A two-storey structure connecting the buildings will be demolished, making way for a new public space. The planning documents state, “The new pathway through the site will improve connectivity from Beresford Street to Woolwich town centre. This enhancement will provide a more convenient walking route for the local community, students, and hotel guests.”Engagement with Greenwich Council on the project began in November 2023, followed by a public consultation in July 2024.This type of development reflects the discussions at UKREiiF, an event that brings together property professionals from across the UK.
