Persimmon Homes Expands in the West Midlands with Plans for 1,200 New Homes

Persimmon Homes, one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, has announced an ambitious plan to construct an additional 1,200 homes across the West Midlands region. This development is a significant milestone in the company’s strategic expansion and marks a substantial investment in the area’s housing market.

Over the past six months, Persimmon Homes has received planning approval for multiple sites in key locations throughout the West Midlands, including Lichfield, Kenilworth, Redditch, Sandwell, and Burton on Trent. The company has also acquired land for new developments in Dunchurch and Bedworth, with an additional site in Wednesbury slated for acquisition later this month.

Stephen Cleveley, Regional Chairman for Persimmon Homes said: “The West Midlands is of vital importance to our company. We see lots of opportunity to deliver quality homes in the area and ultimately support the government’s target of building 1.5 million new homes over the next five years. Our relationships with Local Authorities and Registered Housing Providers are key to this success and we value the engagement we have with these organisations.

The development of these 1,200 homes is expected to create a significant positive impact on the local economy and meet growing demand within the West Midlands housing market. Persimmon Homes has emphasised the importance of its collaborations with Local Authorities and Registered Housing Providers, which have been instrumental in achieving planning approvals and advancing the project’s progress.

Additionally, Persimmon’s national timber frame factory in Castle Bromwich is a testament to the company’s dedication to the area. This facility produces timber frames, insulated wall panels, and roof cassettes for up to 9,500 homes annually, supporting the company’s commitment to sustainable, high-quality home construction.

The West Midlands project aligns with Persimmon Homes’ national goals and demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to addressing housing needs. By creating new jobs and stimulating local economies, Persimmon Homes is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of housing across the region.
