Nuveen Real Estate is set to sell a 25% interest in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter, the £1 billion retail and leisure complex completed in 2021. Alongside this, Nuveen is also selling a 100% interest in the W Edinburgh hotel within the same development.

St James Quarter, located at the east end of Princes Street, features prominent brands such as John Lewis, Zara, & Other Stories, Lego, and Kurt Geiger. This mixed-use complex includes shopping, dining, and residential facilities, marking a significant redevelopment in Edinburgh’s city centre.

The investment manager’s decision to divest part of its stake in the complex is part of its strategic portfolio management. The sale represents an opportunity for investors to acquire a share in one of Edinburgh’s premier commercial destinations.

The investment manager’s decision to divest part of its stake in the complex follows the sale of Edinburgh’s OMNi retail and leisure asset for £64 million in April 2024. This sale is part of Nuveen’s strategic portfolio management and represents an opportunity for investors to acquire a share in one of Edinburgh’s premier commercial destinations.

St James Quarter has quickly become a key attraction in the Scottish capital since its opening in 2021.
