Marks & Spencer to Open New 60,000 sq ft Store

Marks & Spencer (M&S) has unveiled plans to open a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq ft store at the Copdock Interchange in Ipswich, pending planning permission. This strategic investment underscores M&S’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the region while continuing to serve customers at its existing Westgate Street store.

The new store will be located at the Copdock Interchange in Ipswich and will span 60,000 sq ft (approximately 5,574 sq m). It will offer a wide selection of M&S’s signature products, including food, clothing, and beauty items, alongside an 80-seater café. Over 90 new jobs are expected to be generated for the local community.

If approved, the store is projected to open in Summer 2027. This project forms part of M&S’s broader strategy, which has seen over £60 million invested in new and renewed stores across the East of England over the past three years.

The new store at Copdock Interchange is anticipated to bolster Ipswich’s retail landscape, creating jobs, boosting the local economy, and enriching the shopping options available to the community.

In addition to this development, Marks & Spencer is set to take centre stage at the upcoming UKREiiF (The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum) as a proud gold partner. This prestigious partnership guarantees M&S a prominent platform, elevating its brand visibility and reinforcing its industry leadership. By participating in UKREiiF, M&S will connect with an impressive network of over 16,000 developers, investors, local authorities, and key decision-makers, creating valuable opportunities to forge partnerships and drive future business growth.
