Liverpool City Council has approved two major housing projects: a 250-flat student accommodation scheme in the Fabric District and a 92-home affordable housing development in Speke.

Student Accommodation in Fabric District

Caro Developments and TJ Morris received approval to replace warehouses on Kempston Street with a three-to-seven-storey student accommodation block. Designed by Falconer Chester Hall, the project will include 36 studios and 214 one-bedroom flats, featuring a design that blends Georgian and Victorian elements with modern aesthetics.

Neil Carlyle, Managing Director of Caro, expressed that the development would enhance the area and attract more people, while TJ Morris Development Director Dave Little emphasized the positive impact on Liverpool’s growth and job creation.

Affordable Housing in Speke

South Liverpool Homes (SLH) was granted permission to construct 92 affordable homes in Speke. The project will provide a mix of affordable rent, rent-to-buy, and shared ownership units, catering to a range of housing needs. The development includes both houses and apartments, with specific provisions for residents over 55.

These developments highlight Liverpool’s commitment to expanding housing options and improving community infrastructure. They are likely to be discussed at upcoming real estate networking events in Liverpool and infrastructure investment events in the North West, offering opportunities for construction and investment professionals.
