Leeds City is poised for a major architectural transformation as plans are underway to demolish six tower blocks, originally built in the 1960s.

Leeds City Council, after assessing the blocks located in Seacroft, Moortown, and Armley, deemed renovation efforts to be financially impractical. As a result, a total of 345 flats, spread across these buildings, will see their occupants moved to different housing.

The blocks facing demolition are Bailey and Brooklands Towers, Ramshead Heights, Leafield Towers, Raynville Court, and Raynville Grange. Having been functional since the early 1960s, these buildings have endured wear and tear over the decades. Their current deteriorated state demands significant investment for repair and maintenance.

The council estimates the rehousing process for the affected residents to carry a price tag of £5.27 million.
