Leatherhead’s town centre is poised for a major transformation following a new partnership deal facilitated by national law firm Freeths. After two years of planning and negotiation, Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) has entered into a joint venture with Kier Property Developments aimed at revitalising the Surrey town’s core.

The ambitious project will focus on redeveloping the Swan Centre into a vibrant hub for shopping and leisure. Plans for Bull Hill include a comprehensive residential-led development featuring new apartments, community spaces, public areas, a hotel, parking facilities, and offices. This initiative is a cornerstone of the council’s ‘Transform Leatherhead’ scheme, intended to breathe new life into the town.

Clive Pearce, a real estate partner at Freeths, expressed excitement over the firm’s involvement in the joint venture, noting its importance for the council and the broader Leatherhead community. The project marks a key milestone in the town’s regeneration efforts, leveraging Freeths’ broad sector expertise.

With the partnership now formalised, the focus shifts to engaging the public in the first phase of the redevelopment. Efforts will be made to gather input from residents, businesses, and visitors, ensuring the project aligns with the community’s needs and aspirations.
