This acquisition is a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy for the United Kingdom and Northern Europe, with plans to develop a 145,000 sq ft production and distribution facility. Construction is expected to begin in late 2024, with the facility anticipated to be fully operational by spring 2026.The new Preston facility is designed to double Kerakoll’s UK production capacity by 2028 and will play a critical role in meeting the growing demand for sustainable building materials in the region. This expansion will also see Kerakoll increase its UK workforce by 30%, supporting the company’s growth across Northern Europe. The new site will complement Kerakoll’s existing production facility in nearby Leyland, Lancashire, and will be the Group’s second site in the UK and its twentieth globally.Sustainability is at the heart of Kerakoll’s mission, and the new Preston facility will feature several green technologies, including photovoltaic panels capable of generating 245 kWh per day and advanced rainwater recycling systems. The company is targeting a “Very Good” or above BREEAM rating, reflecting its commitment to high environmental performance standards.In addition to the expansion, Kerakoll Group has appointed Carl Gardner as General Manager UK and Director UK, Nordics, and the Netherlands, underscoring the company’s focus on international growth. In 2023, Kerakoll achieved a turnover of £40 million in the UK, and this latest development reinforces the Group’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the region and advancing its leadership in sustainable building materials.
