IJM Land, a UK subsidiary of Malaysia’s IJM Land, has recently purchased the historic site previously occupied by cereal giant Shredded Wheat in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. The deal, overseen by appointed receiver CBRE, paves the way for a major mixed-use development on the 11-acre site.

The site, known for its long-standing association with Shredded Wheat, is set to undergo a major transformation. IJM Land plans to develop a mixed-use complex, combining residential, commercial, and leisure spaces. This development is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to Welwyn Garden City, blending the area’s rich industrial heritage with modern urban design.

The acquisition by IJM Land signifies a new chapter for the site, which has played a pivotal role in the local community for decades as the production hub for the well-known cereal brand.
