Frasers Group, the retail conglomerate behind brands including Sports Direct and House of Fraser, has acquired the 250,000 sq ft Swindon Designer Outlet in the UK.

The centre, which opened in 1997 on the site of a former railworks in Swindon, attracts over 3 million visitors annually, placing it among the UK’s top five outlet destinations by footfall. Previously owned by LaSalle Investment Management since 2022 and managed by McArthurGlen Group, the outlet features a wide range of premium and high-street brands.

The acquisition forms part of Frasers Group’s Elevation Strategy, aimed at strengthening its physical retail presence and supporting key brand partners such as Nike, Adidas, and Boss with dedicated outlet offerings. The purchase reinforces Frasers Group’s dual role as both retailer and landlord, following recent acquisitions including Braehead Shopping Centre. Reports indicate the deal was valued at approximately £275 million, although no official figure has been confirmed.
