Caledonian Leisure, a domestic operator, has expanded its hotel portfolio with the acquisition of the well-known Liberty’s Hotel in Blackpool. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed. This acquisition marks the second addition to their portfolio, following their earlier purchase of the Claymore Hotel in Arrochar, Scotland.

Situated on the Northern Promenade, the 67-room hotel is set to undergo a rebranding, emerging as The Caledonian Tower Hotel. This move will see the existing staff become part of the Caledonian Leisure team, which is also responsible for the Caledonian Travel and UKBreakaways brands.

The hotel’s popularity among Caledonian Travel customers stems from its prime location, conveniently close to Blackpool’s beach and key attractions like the Blackpool Tower. It also enjoys a reputation as one of the city’s top entertainment venues.

Graham Rogers, the managing director of Caledonian Leisure, expressed excitement about the addition of The Caledonian Tower Hotel to their collection. He highlighted Blackpool as a top destination among their customers, driving substantial packaged sales through the Caledonian Travel and UKBreakaways brands.

This strategic acquisition represents a significant step for Caledonian Leisure, as the company seeks to grow its portfolio of owned and partner hotels. The Caledonian Tower Hotel, celebrated for its entertainment offerings, will continue to provide nightly entertainment and maintain its high standards in accommodation and hospitality.

Caledonian Leisure plans to introduce a variety of packages for The Caledonian Tower Hotel, leveraging their brand channels and extensive network of travel agents to enhance the hotel’s reach and appeal to a broader audience.
