Leading property developer Ballymore has submitted two significant hybrid planning applications to Newham Council for transformative riverside developments in east London. The proposed Thames Road and Knights Road schemes aim to deliver a total of 3,684 new homes while enhancing local infrastructure, community spaces, and employment opportunities.

Located next to Thames Barrier Park and Pontoon Dock DLR station, the Thames Road development is designed as a vibrant, mixed-use community featuring 1,658 new homes, including 281 affordable units, 359 co-living suites offering flexible living solutions, a brand-new primary school, light industrial workspaces to support local businesses, newly created parkland for public enjoyment, and a range of ground-floor retail and community amenities for residents and visitors.

Situated near West Silvertown DLR station, the Knights Road project focuses on residential and commercial development while enhancing nearby public areas. Key features include 1,667 new homes, with 334 designated as affordable housing, 4,000 sq m of light industrial and flexible business spaces, and significant upgrades to the 4.5-acre Lyle Park.

These ambitious proposals build on the success of Ballymore’s 40-acre Royal Wharf development, already a thriving community in the area. By delivering high-quality homes, employment hubs, and recreational spaces, Ballymore aims to foster long-term growth while preserving the neighbourhood’s unique character.
