The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) has announced that Aldi UK has secured a pavilion at the annual event taking place between 20th-22nd May 2025, in Leeds.

Aldi, the UK’s fourth largest supermarket, has more than 1,020 stores in Britain and recently announced an ambitious £1.4bn two-year investment plan in expanding its store and distribution network.

The retailer has previously announced plans to scale to 1,500 stores across the UK and is set to open a further 22 before the end of 2024.

Store expansion has long been a core component of Aldi’s growth in the UK – from a single store in 1990 to more than a 1,020 now, along with a 10% share of the overall UK grocery market

Aldi’s National Real Estate division is crucial to this ongoing strategy as the company continues to expand its portfolio of stores and regional distribution centres. The team collaborates closely with local authorities, investors and architects to build strong partnerships and develop comprehensive project plans that support their ambitious expansion goals.

Speaking of their involvement at UKREiiF 2025, Jonathan Neale, Managing Director for National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “UKREiiF is part of the fabric of Britain’s real estate community and is a vital opportunity to bring together ideas, identify new opportunities and form partnerships.

“With more than 1,000 stores across the country, our footprint is definitely growing, but we know there are still a number of towns that either don’t have an Aldi or have shown demand for more stores. As part of our £1.4bn two-year expansion plan we are committed to our long-term goal to have 1,500 UK stores, bringing high quality, affordable groceries to millions more British families.”

Nathan Spencer, Managing Director at UKREiiF, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Aldi once again to next year’s UKREiiF. Their commitment to expanding their presence across the UK and Ireland, combined with their strategic partnerships in real estate and infrastructure, aligns perfectly with the goals of our forum. Aldi’s participation underscores the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving forward the future of retail and real estate development. We look forward to seeing the exciting plans they will showcase at the event.”

UKREiiF is supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the fourth annual event will be held in Leeds on 20-22 May 2025. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth, and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
