In a strategic move aimed at bolstering the UK logistics sector, Aldar Properties, alongside investment powerhouse Carlyle, has earmarked £85 million for the acquisition and development of 14 key warehouse sites across the UK. This investment highlights the commitment of both firms to the strengthening and expansion of Britain’s logistics infrastructure amidst growing market demands.

The selected warehouses, spanning a total of 900,000 square feet of gross leasable area, are strategically located to maximise efficiency and connectivity within the UK’s logistics network. Fully occupied, these sites represent a significant opportunity for development, promising to elevate the standards of logistical operations and meet the evolving needs of the sector.

Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group CEO of Aldar Properties, expressed enthusiasm about the venture, noting the pivotal role of the UK logistics market in the company’s broader European investment strategy. “Our focus on these 14 UK warehouses underlines our belief in the strength and potential of the UK logistics sector. We are committed to leveraging our expertise in real estate development and asset management to contribute positively to the market’s growth,” he stated.

This investment forms part of Aldar’s and Carlyle’s collaborative efforts to tap into the lucrative European logistics market, with a special emphasis on the UK. The venture is expected to not only enhance the operational capacity of the UK’s logistics network but also to support the overall growth and efficiency of the supply chain in the region.

As Aldar and Carlyle move forward with their plans, the UK logistics sector stands on the brink of significant enhancement. The focus on these 14 warehouses is set to introduce a new era of development, aimed at supporting the country’s economic growth and reinforcing its position as a leading logistics hub in Europe.
