The UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) will take place in Leeds on 20th-22nd May 2025, bringing together more than 16,000 professionals focused on investment and regeneration. With national and local government representatives present, as well as investors, developers, end-users and many more of those connected with the wider built environment, the Association for Rental Living will be ensuring the rental living sector is a crucial part of the conversation.

Association for Rental Living team members will be speaking at a range of sessions over the course of UKREiiF 2025, showcasing the rental living sector’s role in driving sustainable, inclusive and transformative investment and regeneration through the connection of people, places and businesses.

CEO Brendan Geraghty will be kicking off the Association for Rental Living’s participation by speaking at the Sector Insights session in the Markets & Insights Pavilion at 11:00 am on Tuesday 20th May. He will consider rental living’s role in delivering the Labour government’s ambitious 1.5 million new homes target. The discussion will explore the role of Build to Rent (BTR) in combatting the UK’s critical housing shortage, examining the challenges and opportunities that BTR developers, investors and operators face. Brendan will be joined by rental living sector experts including Fladgate’s Matthew Williams, Apache Capital Partners’ Ashley Perry, Quintain’s James Saunders and Caroline Winter of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Later the same day, the Association for Rental Living will join forces with Business for London and the British Property Federation (BPF) in the Places for Life Pavilion at 3:00 pm. The session will present an exclusive first look at the latest Who Lives in BTR research. The panel of industry leaders will consider what the data reveals about residents across the professionally managed rental sector, looking at what brings residents to neighbourhoods and how to keep them there in the longer-term.

On Wednesday 21st May, Association for Rental Living CEO Brendan will once more take to the stage, this time at 8:30 am in the Bidwells Pavilion. Speaking alongside Bidwells’ Kelly Bream, Sam Monger of The Good Economy, Greystar’s Michela Hancock and Apo Group’s Rachel Hanniquet-Brooking, Brendan will be hosting at interactive panel discussion on whether social value is valued. The panel will investigate a Golden Thread framework for delivering rental living schemes that embed social value at their core to deliver high returns on investment. It will embrace the perspectives of investors, developers, operators, tenants, local authorities and communities in examining what the investment disconnects are and what drives financial success while creating vibrant, sustainable places for communities to thrive.

At 11:00 am in the Winvic and Partners Hub in the Pavilion Courtyard, Association for Rental Living Board Member and Head of Residential at Muse, Stephanie Smith, will chair a session on aligning investors, developers and contractors to solve the housing crisis. Six industry experts, including the Association for Rental Living’s Brendan Geraghty, will focus on the industry’s need to move beyond traditional silos and embrace new ways of working that prioritise trust, compliance and shared value. Early engagement and partnering for mutual benefit will be key themes, along with embracing new procurement models and leveraging digital innovation to enhance transparency and efficiency.

Another ever-popular Association for Rental Living event as part of the formal UKREiiF 2025 agenda will be the Study Tour of Rental Living in Action for public sector delegates, including local authority representatives. Celia Harrison of Bridges Fund Management and Touchstone’s Jon Clark will take delegates on a tour of Dandara Living’s Leodis Square and UNCLE’s Leeds city centre development from 2:00-5:30 pm on 21st May. The in-person exploration of rental living best practice in Leeds city centre will show first-hand how different delivery models can support regional regeneration. The tour will be followed by a roundtable learning discussion on rental living, for maximum benefit.

The final Association for Rental Living event at UKREiiF will take place on Wednesday 21st May, with Association members and potential members invited to join the ARL Reception at the Centrick Arms at Bridge End Social, from 6:00-7:30 pm.
