A £120 million housing development in Hartlepool is poised to commence by the end of the year, following confirmation of existing planning permission. The project, overseen by Hartlepool Development Corporation (HDC), aims to deliver a mixed-use scheme featuring 650 homes, alongside retail, leisure, and medical facilities across multiple brownfield sites. This development could be a highlight at upcoming property networking events in Hartlepool, showcasing new opportunities for property investors.

Key locations include Maritime Avenue near Hartlepool Railway Station and Slake Terrace at Hartlepool Marina. This project is part of Hartlepool’s broader regeneration efforts, including the £34.5m Highlight wellbeing hub, the expansion of the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool, and the refurbishment of the Museum of Hartlepool. These initiatives could be featured at the next real estate networking event in Hartlepool, focusing on urban renewal and investment opportunities.

Tees Valley Mayor and HDC Chairman Ben Houchen expressed optimism, stating, “It’s great news that work can start as early as the end of this year, transforming derelict brownfield sites and providing fantastic homes for local people.” This sentiment underscores the project’s potential interest at future construction networking events in the North East.

The development will offer various housing types, targeting families, young professionals, retirees, and affordable housing seekers. Additionally, plans include new leisure facilities like cafés, bars, and restaurants. The Urban Village and Coast Connectivity areas, where the development will be focused, are likely to be discussed at upcoming business investment events in Hartlepool, highlighting the area’s transformation and growth prospects.

Cllr Tom Feeney, Deputy Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council, emphasised the collaborative effort, stating, “These private sector investments, alongside the ambitious regeneration programme led by Hartlepool Borough Council, are working to deliver a brighter future for Hartlepool.”

Stuart Monk, Managing Director of Jomast, noted, “As a local company within the Tees area, we are confident that we can deliver an exemplary scheme at Hartlepool Marina that will significantly benefit the local community and the town.” This project, supported by housebuilder Persimmon Homes, might also attract attention from those interested in knowing how to meet property investors in the Tees Valley.
