This approval initiates the transformation of a 101-acre site near Blackburn town centre into a substantial residential area.Persimmon Homes plans to develop a diverse community with a mix of detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses. The project will include 30 acres of open space, green corridors, and two playgrounds, supported by a network of cycle and footpaths, enhancing the area’s connectivity and livability.Andrew Laing, Persimmon’s land director, emphasised the development’s benefits, noting that it will offer a variety of housing types and improve local amenities while attracting investment to Blackburn.The project features 123 two-bedroom homes, 159 three-bedroom homes, 198 four-bedroom homes, and 64 five-bedroom homes, all equipped with EV charging points and solar panels.
