Croydon Council is inviting local residents to participate in a series of workshops aimed at shaping the future of the town centre. These sessions are part of the council’s broader initiative to develop a comprehensive Town Centre Regeneration Strategy over the next 15 years.

The initiative seeks to engage community groups, businesses, and local citizens in pivotal discussions and creative activities that will influence Croydon’s future landscape. This collaborative effort underscores the council’s commitment to making Croydon a vibrant, inclusive, and attractive place to live and work.

The upcoming workshops will take place at the Croydon Urban Room and other key locations around the town, including North End. Scheduled events include a photography and AI workshop on Saturday, 27 April, and a community discussion on Friday, 3 May, among others. These meetings are designed not only to gather feedback but also to foster a sense of community ownership over the regeneration efforts.

This community-driven approach is highlighted by the over 650 responses already received from a recent survey, demonstrating the local community’s keen interest in the project. The council is also hosting an interactive exhibit at the Croydon Urban Room until 25 May, where residents can further engage with and influence the plans.

Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon, emphasised the importance of community involvement in the regeneration process, stating that the council looks forward to incorporating a diverse array of ideas and suggestions from these workshops into the final strategy.

For those interested in the future of Croydon and potential opportunities in urban development and regeneration, these workshops represent a crucial chance to have their voices heard and to contribute to the shaping of their city’s future.
