Countryside Partnerships, the leading mixed-tenure developer, has acquired land in Grimsby that will provide 299 new homes.

The site will form the fourth phase of Scartho Top, a major redevelopment area in south Grimsby that will eventually provide more than 2,000 new homes.

Under the plans, 61 affordable homes will be managed by Gainsborough-based housing charity Acis Group, 58 homes will be for private rent via Start Living, the single-family build-to-rent joint venture between Gatehouse Bank and TPG Real Estate Partners, and the remaining 180 homes will be for open market sale with Linden Homes (part of Vistry Group).
The site, which has a GDV of £61m, is the largest being built by the Yorkshire region of Countryside Partnerships.

Commenting, Andrew Poyner, Managing Director of Countryside Partnerships Yorkshire said: “Over the last 20 years Scartho Top has become a major new residential neighbourhood and we’re delighted to be building the next 299 new homes here. Our proposals include a broad mix of tenures, which creates greater opportunities for local people to find the home that’s right for them. We’re also pleased to be working again in partnership with Acis and Start Living, two quality partners who will help to deliver the best outcome for the site.”

Paul Stockwell, Chief Commercial Officer at Gatehouse Bank, said: “Grimsby is a town that we know and understand well, with Scartho Top a superb site close to local amenities such as the nearby Diana Princess of Wales hospital. As such it is great to be working with Countryside Partnerships, a regular partner of ours, to deliver a scheme that will be of considerable benefit to the wider community.”

Andy Turner, Head of Property Development and Assets at Acis Group, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Start Living and Countryside Partnerships on this next phase of development at Scartho Top. These 61 affordable homes will mean new opportunities for people and families in the area, and we’re looking forward to being part of the community.”
