Starlight Investments, a renowned name in Canadian property, has clinched a £45m loan, paving its way into the UK’s build-to-rent (BTR) sector. The project at Liverpool’s Princes Dock, part of the ambitious £5.5bn Liverpool Waters regeneration scheme, will introduce 278 luxury residential units, from sleek studios to spacious three-bedroom homes. This venture is a pivotal part of Starlight’s broader UK strategy, targeting BTR projects in major UK cities and the London commuter zones. Their impressive North American portfolio underpins this move, and the financial backing from Maslow Capital is set to expedite their UK market debut.

In essence, Starlight’s CEO, Daniel Drimmer, expressed confidence in their UK venture, highlighting the strategic growth backed by their North American roots. He emphasised the significance of the partnership with Maslow and its role in accelerating their UK ambitions, while also addressing the pressing housing needs of the region.
